Key points

FAQ

Will this plugin copy the previous AI's chat history?

No. The passport only carries the goal, current state, verified facts, decision rationale, and next steps; it does not inherit the previous AI's conversation history, nor does it automatically guess a 'just-modified task' as the current task.

Where is data stored by default?

On Windows, it automatically discovers the U-King default installation directory; other platforms first read the TASK_PASSPORT_UKING or UKING_EXECUTABLE environment variables; if neither exists, it falls back to the directory storage Provider (storeDirectory needs to be specified in the config).

How to hand over a task to another AI tool?

Use the CLI's pack subcommand to generate a TaskPack file (zip or pure JSON), and after sending it to the other party, use the land subcommand to land it; TaskPack is a pure data format, and the other party can also throw it to their own AI for parsing.

Can writing be disabled?

Yes. Set the configuration item allowCheckpoint to false, and the two write tools task_passport_new and task_passport_checkpoint will directly refuse calls to avoid accidental writes.

What if npm packages can't be installed due to network restrictions in mainland China?

Add --registry https://registry.npmmirror.com before the npx/npm command to switch to a mirror; when passing the passport to a colleague, this line must be sent together, otherwise they may get stuck at the first step of installation.

Does it conflict with the official persistent memory feature?

No conflict. It uses a thin plugin boundary, with state stored outside the plugin lifecycle (U-King or external directory); the DSH plugin can be installed or removed at any time without data loss.

Will the same task conflict between DSH and Claude Code?

It will create two passports with the same name. All Harnesses must point to the same authoritative storage (same U-King or same storeDirectory), otherwise they will read different states.

Can it run offline?

Yes. The local directory Provider is purely filesystem operations and does not depend on any external services; it can run as long as Node >= 20.
