How to use deepseek-harness-desktop

Adds a fullscreen whale particle background effect to DeepSeek Harness Web UI. The plugin recognizes page state changes and automatically adjusts particle density and speed accordingly. Does not replace the current skin.

Key points

FAQ

Will this plugin replace the DSH skin I'm currently using?

No. It only mounts an independent full-screen canvas running below the interface, and does not replace or modify the skin you have already selected.

Will enabling it slow down performance?

The plugin has adaptive frame time degradation logic; consecutive slow frames will gradually reduce particle count, and consecutive fast frames will restore it; the canvas hardware pixel ratio is capped at 1.5, and rendering pauses when the page is hidden.

Will it interfere with content in input boxes or popups?

No. The canvas always has pointer-events: none; when the input box gains focus or a dialog opens, the controller automatically switches to a quieter page gear to ensure text contrast.

What happens with the system preference 'Reduce Motion'?

When prefers-reduced-motion: reduce is detected, the controller enters the reduced gear, the animation is basically stationary, displaying only sparse static visuals.

What can be changed in the settings?

In Settings > Plugin Config > Whale Particle Theme, you can adjust: whether to enable, the scene (currently only accepts built-in whale), particle density, transparency, and movement speed.

How do I uninstall it?

Use dsh plugin --profile web remove to uninstall this package, and follow the official profile mechanism to remove bundle dependencies. There's no need to manually clean up local data since this plugin doesn't write to local storage.

Will model latency and Token consumption increase?

No. This plugin only renders particles on the browser side, does not add system prompts, does not make network calls, and does not integrate into the model workflow.

What if I want other particle scenes?

The client exports ParticleThemeRegistry and ParticleThemeDefinition. For new scenes, simply register a unique ID and return update/dispose implementations; the controller will automatically take over the lifecycle; the theme field in the settings schema needs to be extended by the new scene package.
