Install via your agent

Install the DeepSeek Harness plugin CAPTAIN1275/dsh-ui-web/packages/skins/dragon-heir for me: review the repository at https://github.com/CAPTAIN1275/dsh-ui-web first, then run the install command and verify the plugin loads successfully.

Paste this instruction to the DSH Web GUI assistant — it will install and verify for you.

One-Line Positioning

「Dragon Heir」is the theme skin plugin for dsh web GUI: overlay the entire interface with dual-theme artwork backgrounds (Ink Dragon / Great Wall), featuring cinnabar / gold dragon seal favicons, and semi-transparent panels that let the artwork shine through. It only modifies DOM appearance, without affecting model requests or conversation data.

Core Features

  • Mount Ink Dragon / Great Wall dual-theme background images across the full browser viewport (WebP base64 embedded, no network download required)
  • Real-time switching between light/dark artwork, scrim overlay, and brightness/contrast filters following the host base theme
  • Remap dsh theme colors to cinnabar / gold + rice paper / indigo dual palettes (light/dark variants)
  • Make large surface areas like the main panel semi-transparent to let the background shine through
  • Inject cinnabar (light) or gold (dark) dragon seal SVG favicon, replacing the browser tab icon
  • Complete rollback on dispose: remove body attributes, remove background layer, remove injected favicon
  • Actively avoid backdrop-filter: prevent fixed-position overlays (like settings panels) from being locked into parent containers

Technical Implementation

  • Language: TypeScript + CSS Modules
  • Key Dependencies: @deepseek-ai/cordis (type-only import, effect lifecycle), lightningcss (CSS compilation), tsdown (build)
  • Architecture Pattern: DSH client skin half-plugin; apply(ctx) registers disposer via ctx.effect(...), retracts all writes according to ThemePresenter spec on dispose; does not inject any cordis services, does not emit events; mounts ui-skin-dragon-heir line at bundle layer via cordis.patch.yml
  • Entry Files: src/index.ts (host-side empty shell) + src/client/index.ts (core logic, 96 lines) + src/client/art.ts (artwork and icon base64 constants)

Use Cases

For regular users who prefer Chinese ink paintings and cinnabar / gold color schemes, transform dsh web GUI into a more Eastern aesthetic: view the Ink Dragon piercing clouds in light mode, view the Great Wall at dusk in dark mode, with panels featuring rice paper / indigo frosted texture. Suitable for prolonged daily use, for those who want a more沉稳 (stable/dignified) desktop atmosphere; does not affect any conversations or model behavior.

Prerequisites & Compatibility

DependencyMin VersionDescription
DSH>= 0.1.0-rc.6Repository uses official NPM SDK package (@deepseek-ai/cordis@^4.0.1), aligned with @deepseek-ai/[email protected]
NodeNot declaredNeither package nor root package.json sets engines
PlatformCross-platformOnly affects DSH web GUI browser-side; macOS / Windows / Linux can all run the host
Native ModulesNonePure browser-side implementation, no Node native module dependencies

Installation

dsh plugin --profile web add github:CAPTAIN1275/dsh-ui-web/packages/skins/dragon-heir

Or install all skins at once (recommended):

dsh plugin --profile web add @captain1275/dsh-skins

Activation is required after installation:

dsh-skin use dragon-heir

Configuration

No additional configuration required. apply() automatically registers disposer via ctx.effect(...), no manual lifecycle management needed. The skin exposes no configuration fields; artwork, scrim, filters, and favicon are all hardcoded in src/client/art.ts and src/client/dragon-heir.module.css.

FAQ

Q: Does this skin affect my conversation history or model requests?

A: No. It only modifies browser DOM (background images, panel colors, favicon), does not inject any cordis services, does not send requests, does not touch model APIs, and does not modify KV Cache behavior.

Q: Can I enable multiple skins at the same time?

A: No. Only one skin can be active at a time; when switching, the new skin takes over and the old skin is completely unloaded; switch using dsh-skin use dragon-heir.

Q: Will there be traces left after disabling?

A: No. The effect disposer retracts everything it wrote: removes body attributes, removes background layer, removes injected favicon, completely restoring the original page styles. This is guarded by the "retracts everything on fiber dispose" test case in tests/apply.spec.ts.

Q: Why doesn't the interface change after installation?

A: Installing to profile does not equal activation. You still need to run dsh-skin use dragon-heir to apply the skin.

Q: Does it support dark mode?

A: Yes. The skin follows the host base theme switching: light theme shows Ink Dragon "Unyielding Dragon Soul" with cinnabar dragon seal, dark theme shows "Great Wall of Ten Thousand Miles" with gold dragon seal; light/dark switching is implemented via MutationObserver listening to data-ds-dark-theme, no remounting required.

Q: Do I need to build locally on first installation?

A: No. When installing via git link, the prepare script automatically builds lib/; however, when pnpm ≥10 first installs git dependencies, you may need to add the printed package key to the allowBuilds list in pnpm-workspace.yaml and retry.

Q: Will it conflict with aionui right panel (file tree, Git Graph)?

A: No. The CSS end specially handles aionui dialog, ref badge, and Git Graph chip selector pills, remapping tokens to the same palette (cinnabar for light, gold for dark) to maintain overall visual consistency.

Q: What makes it different from other skins?

A: This skin's core selling point is the "Ink Dragon + Great Wall" dual-theme artwork with cinnabar / gold dragon seal color scheme; the same repository also has aurora (aurora, customizable background image/video), blue-fantasy (whale girl indigo) skin, plus other themes packaged in the aggregator @captain1275/dsh-skins.

Difficulty Level

Beginner — one command to install, one command to activate, no configuration items, easy for regular users to get started.

Known Issues & Limitations

  • Only one skin can be active at a time; switching completely unloads the current skin
  • Intentionally avoids using backdrop-filter to blur ancestor elements: would break fixed-position overlay containment (e.g., settings panels), locking them into parent containers
  • Ink Dragon / Great Wall background images are embedded WebP base64, slightly increasing bundle volume
  • No explicit known issues like TODO / FIXME / HACK found in current source code
